ICES is a joint venture of Microsoft Research Cambridge and the ETH Zurich and the EPF Lausanne in Switzerland. They are collaborating in a three year research project to develop an embedded ‘supercomputer in the pocket’ that would enable the use of complex mathematical algorithms to automatically detect anomalies in the blood flow and movement of the heart.
